The VAUXHALL ASTRAVAN 2006 EURO 4 MODEL
2006 saw the launch of the British-built mark five of Vauxhall’s popular Astravan – most years see sales of more than 10,000 of the model. The new Vauxhall Astrava has benefited from a nut and bolt redesign, thanks to the revamped donor car – the Astra estate.
As the van started out life as a car, it is a pleasure to drive, but has also had some commercial vehicle benefits designed into it – flat loading area, inside protection are two examples of this.
The Vauxhall engineers considered every part on the Astra car to deceide whether it needed reworking for the commercial vehicle version. The back axle has been changed and the fuel tank relocated to make sure the load area can be as flat as possible, whilst the steering and handling characteristics.of the car have been kept to make driving round twisty country lanes a pleasure.
Vauxhall and parent company GM have spent fortunes on designing the interior of the Astra car – why would you change it too much for the commercial vehicle version?
