2010 MODEL NISSAN NAVARA
The Nissan Navara was developed alongside Nissan’s Chelsea Tractor – the Pathfinder – the two are also built in the same factory in Spain. As you would therefore expect the two vehicles share underpinnings, the Navara benefitting from the addition of plenty of car-like qualities.
2010 has seen some updates to the Navara range. The biggest change is to the 2500cc engine – it gets more power and better fuel economy at the same time. Now with an output of 190PS, the common rail diesel’s power is only slightly higher than the previous 188bhp, but torque is up 11%. This gives the Navara a new top speed of 112mph and a sub-11 second 0-60 sprint and emissions of 224 (manual) and 238g/kg (auto).
The changes are not restricted to the engine – the 2010 model Nissan Navara also gets safety improvements, including ESP plus a touch-screen satnav and a camera for seeing behind.
On the Outside, there is a revised bonnet, grille and bumper at the front which adds a whopping 8cm to the overall length. The back bumper also gets some changes and two new metallic colours have been added – a blue and a grey.
On the inside improvements have been made to the switches, door trims and seat materials. There is a new controlled for activating 4WD, (won’t bother most owners then) plus chrome has been added to the Tenka varant. More padding has been used for the door armrests, reshaping them to make them more comfy. There are practical changes in the Navara’s door panels with new storage pockets holding a 1-litre bottle and a full sized atlas for when you are travelling the African continent in four wheel drive.
Opt for the Navara Tekna and you’ll get a speed limiter included in the cruise system. These help beat the menace of speed cameras and average speed traps. All Navaras now get ESP as standard, whilst the Acenta gets curtain airbags to match the Tekna models. ... Read more >>
