NEW POWERTRAINS

Six diesel engines, three each of 2.2-litre and 2.4-litre capacity, form the backbone of the new Transit's powertrain family.
All the diesel power units are technology protected to accommodate forthcoming emissions legislation and deliver improved performance with reduced fuel consumption.

Ford Transits feature a choice of three 2.4-litre diesel engines: 100PS/285Nm, 115PS/320Nm and 140PS/375Nm
Five-speed manual gearbox for front-wheel-drive variants and entry-level rear-wheel-drive models; a six-speed transmission for the higher torque 115PS and 140PS diesel engines
Water-cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system
Servicing intervals for all diesels is 25,000km or one year except for the 2.4-litre 140PS TDCi, which is up to 50,000km or two years
New 2.3-litre 145PS/200Nm four-cylinder petrol engine for rear-wheel-drive only. The engine meets Stage IV emission legislation and has 12,000 miles or one-year oil service intervals
Hardened valve seat material means it can be converted after sale to run on LPG or CNG
Dual mass flywheels standard on certain derivatives ( not 85 and 110PS front-wheel-drive or petrol rear-wheel-drive)
