The new Volkswagen Amarok pick-up has received an unlikely award from Zoo magazine who crowned the double-cab pick-up ‘Manliest Motor’ in its 2011 Motoring Awards.
Zoo magazine’s verdict on the Amarok said: ‘The Amarok packs so much testosterone, other cars melt in its presence. It’s that manly, the brute can carry a tonne in the rear loading area, can tow over two tonnes and tackle angles up to a 45 degrees.’

Mercedes Vito With Big ICE

Mercedes-Benz continue to bling up their Vito vans – this time they have teamed up with Pioneer GB to create Project-X – a DJ van with Pioneer’s world record holding Sound Pressure Level in-car entertainment (ICE) products.
The Project-X vehicle is based around a Mercedes-Benz Vito 122CDI Sport-X Dualiner model, which is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, producing 224hp, reaching 60mph in just 8.3 seconds with a maximum speed of 122mph.
Inside the stunning vehicle which features almost £25,000 worth of Pioneer kit there are two 15” competition class SPL subs and four 10” Champion Series subs to ensure a consistently clear, powerful and wide-ranging bass response. The vehicle also comes complete with two Pioneer CDJs and a state of the art mixer, which combined offer the perfect party set-up. The total system features no less than eight independent amplifiers using four batteries and a 300amp power supply, with a speaker power handling capability at a staggering 30,050 watts!
TOYOTA HILUX IN E.ON FLEET DEAL

A dozen Toyota Hilux double cab pickups are on their way to energy company E.On for its boiler repair and maintenance technicians to reach customers who are left without heating and hot water this winter.
The 12 Toyota Hilux were supplied by Toyota World in Birmingham under a fleet partnership agreement for three years. They were delivered to E.ON’s engineers at Toyota’s Manufacturing plant in Derby, and will be used across the country.
