Three years ago London cabbie Colin Salmon bought one of the first Mercedes-Benz Vito Taxis – now he has become one of the first to benefit from the mpg and road tax savings offered by the latest, Euro 5 version.
The main improvements to the Euro 5 taxi are beneath the surface. Thanks to its innovative driveline technology, Colin’s new Vito 113CDI with factory-fitted five-speed automatic transmission returns 27.7mpg in the urban cycle, a 2.9mpg improvement on the Euro 4 111CDI it has replaced.

The first ever Bevan Icon-bodied Mercedes-Benz Sprinters are being supplied by Intercounty Truck & Van, of Wellingborough to the kitchens and joinery brand of Travis Perkins.
The Bevan ICON, first seen at this year’s CV Show is a Luton van body that is both aerodynamic and has a market-leading payload capability.
The Bevan ICONs, all of which are being mounted on Euro 5 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 313CDI chassis will be run for three months, during which their fuel consumption will be monitored closely and compared with that achieved by other Travis Perkins Sprinters with ‘standard’ Luton bodies, also by Bevan Group.
CULTS IN NEW FORD TRANSIT TOUR BUS

Internet music sensation and new band ‘Cults’ have just received their new Ford Transit tour vehicle.
Ever since posting songs anonymously on the internet last year, excitement and intrigue has been swirling around Cults, with the buzz now building with their first string of sell-out UK shows.
The band members – Brian Oblivion and Madeline Follin – picked up the keys in London partway through their UK-wide tour, which continues throughout August including this month’s Reading Festival.
Brian and Madeline said: “Holding our first dates in the UK is very exciting and to have a proper tour vehicle to get around in feels like a rite of passage for a new band.”
New Euro 5 2011 model Iveco Daily to launch this Month

Iveco’s launch for their new Euro 5 Iveco Daily takes place this month, with more UK market details due by November this year.
The Iveco Daily has already sold more than two million units since its original launch in 1978. Since the latest evolution of Daily and ECODAILY was unveiled in 2009 over 100,000 units have been purchased in two years.
MAD BMW M5 Powered Ford Transit in Drifting Mode

Not something you see every day – a fast, modified Ford Transit that is not from Ford’s own motorsports division. This V8 beast is seen being put through its paces at the hands of Polish rallcross Champion Marcin Wicik.
The van will compete in a ‘drifting’ tournament across Europe – starting off this month in Poland. The van has – in addition to the extra power 440bhp in total has a six-speed auto and trick suspension.
Vauxhall Vans Top Retail Sales Charts

Vauxhall vans led the way in the retail sales charts in July with volume up by 37% year-on-year, according to figures released by the SMMT. The Vivaro was also number one in the retail medium van segment, with sales up by 88 per cent on last year.
