SNOW LEADS TO 4×4 PRICE HIKE – NISSAN NAVARA, FORD RANGER & MITSUBISHI L200

Bristish Car Auctions has told us that the levels of interest in 4×4 pick ups sold at it’s network of auction sites acrosshas shot up. T company puts this down to the winter weather getting worse and worse. If you live in the sticks, chances are you will have to have a four wheel drive.

BCA’s Tim Naylor comments: “As the temperature drops, we have seen 4×4 values rise quite sharply. Values for some models climbed by around 5% in November, compared to similar vehicles bought in the previous month.”

“However, even accounting for the rising prices following the early onset of winter, buyers should still be able to find a good deal on a 4×4 at auction.”

FIAT DUCATO WINS CAMPER VAN CONVERSION GONG

The Fiat Ducato has won the ‘Which’ award for base vehicles for the fifth time. Popular amongst converters and drivers, the introduction of Fiat’s automatic gearbox, called the Comfort-Matic helped to sway the judges votes. The choice of the three litre engine gives the Ducato the power it needs to carry the heavy conversions across the most demanding terrain.

Fiat leads the market for base vehicles for conversion tot the campervan industry. “We are delighted that the award-winning Ducato continues to be recognised as the best base vehicle in one of the most important industry awards around,” says Gerry Clarke, director, Fiat Professional UK. “The Ducato range keeps on proving it is first choice among motorhome users, and I’m pleased that these awards have again highlighted the advantages of the new Comfort-Matic gearbox.”

More Ford Transits for British Gas – 4×4 Versions too

In addition to a standard fleet order of more than 340 Transit vans, British gas has added sixty four wheel drive versions of the popular panel van to the fleet – no doubt thanks to the shocking weather we have been experiencing.

Citroen Berlingo, Relay and Dispatch – A great Year

After brining the Enterprise range to the Citroen Commercial vehicle lineup with added extras fitted as standard, Citroen went on to standardise the fitment of the Trafficmaster Satnav system across their panel vans the Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay. The remainder of the range can get access to the excellent traffic avoidance and stolen vehicle tracking system at a discounted price.
To top off the year, the company has ended up with registrations 15% higher than in 2009 and a cabinet full of awards.

2011 Brings New Vauxhall Corsavan

The changes to the revised Corsa, including a mild facelift will be included in the Corsavan.
Available in the first quarter of this year, the revised Corsavan will be offered in two trim levels – Standard and Sportive and will get an all new front end fincluding a new grille with Vauxhall’s new badge. It also gets a re-styled front bumper and eagle-eye headlamps. It will be near identical to the car with new colours and interior treatment. The 1.3CDTI ecoFlex model currently has CO2 emissions of 105g/km.

The Volkswagen Transporter Rockton – The Details

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles believe that their new Transporter Rockton – first seen at this year’s show in Hanover – is the answer to forestry workers, builders and others who need to tackle tricky terrain.
The Rockton is based on a standard Volkswagen Transporter Kombi but comes with a four wheel drive system, unlike the Citroen Dispatch XTR+ which uses a traction control system on their two wheel drive system.

PRICING AND SPEC ANNOUNCED FOR RENAULT TRAFIC PHASE 3

2010 saw the facelift of the Renault Trafic – called the phase 3. Prices start at £16,400 and increase to £21,650 for panel van versions, with crew vans demanding an £800 premium.

There are now a massive 42 different versions in the Renault Trafic range, low and short, low and long, high and short and high and long – giving a choice of load areas from 5m³ to 8.36m³.

RENAULT TRAFIC AND VAUXHALL VIVARO LINK UP TO CONTINUE
