Citroen has just been voted Green Van Manufacturer of the Year at an Awards do in London. Plus the Citroën Nemo achieved a ‘Highly Commended’ in the City Van of the Year category and the Citroen Berlingo secured a ‘Highly Commended’ in the Small Van of the Year.
Citroën’s strong environmental credentials, including the use of exceptionally fuel efficient, low emission HDi diesel engines – with up to 30% bio-diesel compatibility – and across the board availability of Trafficmaster Smartnav – with real-time fleet management capability to help reduce fuel use, carbon footprint and costs – were amongst the key strengths considered by the judging panel. In awarding Citroën the Green Van Manufacturer of the Year title, this panel of major fleet operators and independent van experts, also considered the Company’s wide choice of clean, economical LCVs and its unique Ready to Run range of Dual Fuel (petrol/LPG) vans.
Robert Handyside, Citroën’s Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager, comments: “Citroën considers it a great honour to win the Fleet Van Green Van Manufacturer of the Year Award 2010. This prestigious award recognises Citroën’s continuing commitment to producing affordable, efficient, clean and green LCVs.”
Citroën’s achievement in winning the Fleet Van Green Van Manufacturer of the Year Award follows hard on the heels of the Company’s success in September’s ALD Automotive/TOTAL ECO 10 MPG Marathon. Here, for the third year in succession, the Citroën Nemo was the ‘UK’s Most Economical Van’, returning an exceptional fuel economy of 81.93mpg, beating its official combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 64.2mpg by no less than 27.62%.
